Congratulations to the Bay Trail PTA 2014-2015 Reflections Participants!

 

The Bay Trail PTA would like to congratulate three students on their participation in the 2014-2015 Reflections program. This National PTA Program encourages students to reflect on a specific theme and to then create original artwork expressing their interpretation of that theme. Since 1969, the Reflections Program has been bringing families, schools and communities together in support of student success through the arts.

 

The 2014- 2015 Theme was “The World Would be a Better Place If...”.  Students were able to submit an original work of art in categories including Art, Dance Choreography, Literature, Film, Visual Arts and Photography. Entries were judged based on Interpretation of the Theme, Mastery of Medium and Artistic Merit.  Interpretation of the Theme was conveyed to the judges through an artist’s statement that was included with each entry. Winners from each school advance to the Genesee Valley PTA (GVPTA) for judging to determine which entries move on to the NYS PTA level of judging.

Congratulations to Maddie Nguyen, whose piece received an Award of Excellence from the Genesee Valley PTA and advanced to the state level.
