Greetings Bay Trail PTA Members,
For those unaware, every PTA in New York State is required to pay $4.00 in dues for each membership we receive. The New York State PTA Branch announced that starting the 2025-2026 school year, dues will be raised by $1.00.
Please see the charts below. The first reflects earnings per membership for the 2024-2025 school year, and the second reflects earnings under the cost increase if we keep dues at the same price per member for the 2025-2026 school year:

With steadily increasing costs for products and services and the data provided above, we will need to raise PTA dues for the 2025-2026 School Year.
Membership dues are one of our most important sources of income. Membership dues help pay for the wonderful programs that take place in our building (Homecoming Fun Zone, Battle of the Books, Transportation Appreciation Day, Arts in Education, Teachers Appreciation Week, Senior Scholarships, Staff End-of-Year Appreciation Breakfast, and more!).
As a PTA Board, we did not want to make a decision without stakeholder input, we could not have a successful PTA without all of you! At your earliest convenience, please complete the 2025-2026 Bay Trail PTA Membership Dues Survey to give your feedback on the cost of dues for the 2025-2026 school year. The form will remain open until 11:59 PM on Monday, April 14th.
